The new schedule adds an 8th period to be filled with new required classes, and makes blocks longer, to further develop Seattle Academy’s curriculum and advance the school in a new direction. Seniors Avidan Baral, Ben Gode, and Avi Shapiro sat down with Deans of Faculty Alison Ray and Fred Strong to get some answers.

Review

Chipotle’s Korean equivalent, formerly of Bellevue, relocated nearby last fall.  Oma Bap is a cheerful spot for traditional rice or noodle-based fare.  The star attraction is Bibimbap, a hearty bowl of rice topped with various veggies, your choice of protein, kimchee, and a fried egg.  Drizzle it with sweet soy sauce, add a dab of spicy chili, and swirl it all together with chopsticks or a spoon.

Veggies and options for brown or multi-grain rice make Bibimbap a healthier choice than many of the other restaurants around, but we recommend it for even the nutrition-averse.  The mushrooms and carrots are surprisingly flavorful, and the lettuce adds a nice crunch.  In a juxtaposition of textures, a gooey yolked, crispy-edged sunny-side up egg complements crispy tofu or tender meat.  The only disappointment is the mung bean sprouts: overcooked and salty, these are best pushed to the edge of the bowl.

Those who are hungry need not worry; Oma Bap serves up hearty portions with plenty of protein for athletes.  Just make sure you can get there and back in time, as it’s a brisk 10 minute walk from Temple.

Before you go, be sure to pick up 2-for-1 meal discount cards, available in the CUB lobby.
